Just Go!

Last week I had an extremely motivating talk with one of my homies. It has led to my new motto on life, "Just Go". I will post something soon about the true meaning of "Just Go" and how that one conversation may have changed my outlook on many aspects of my life. Until then, continue to take steps in the right direction, continue to push for you dreams to come true. Just Go!

Came across this picture from senior year of high school. I thought it was funny and decided to share. Minus about two people, everyone here has managed to remain close friends after high school. It's been about three and a half years since we were in high school, but it seems like yesterday we took this picture.

P.S. ignore the "cheer" hoodie. It was my my little sisters and i decided to wear it on the last day of school.

My Christmas

This Christmas was a good one. Got spend time with family and friends. Enjoyed many laughs and shared many stories. I definitely felt like a kid again. I received some great gifts. My favorites were my Beats by Dre, I had been wanting these for some time now and was finally able to get them - thanks to my mom and cuzzo. My girlfriend also came through in the clutch with some kicks and season 1 of both House and How to Make it America.--which happen to be two of my favorite shows. (Word to her)

I hope everyone's holiday was as enjoyable as mine was. If i don't get back before the year is up....have fun and be safe bringing in 2012.

Winter Break

Im out of school until January 23, 2012. During this time I plan on getting a few things done and having good times with my peeps. Here are just a few things that I need to get accomplished:

• Summer Research Apps.
• Make progress on research project
• set up Spring semester for groups
• Complete at least 2 books
• Blog 10 - 15 times (about twice per week)
• ultimate clean of car/ room
• lose 10 pounds
• sleep!!!!!

Mixed with this list are many late nights hanging out with friends doing things that will make for funny stories years from now. I plan on having my camera with me most of the time, so look for a lot of pictures as I document my life.

If you did not catch Deion Sanders' hall of fame speech, you missed out. To hear the passion in his speech and hear his story was truly something great.

Discipline

"If you notice, most successful people you read about are extremely disciplined in their lifestyle"

This was said to me on Saturday night during a conversation I had with one of my best friends. Out of the entire conversation, this line had me thinking the most. I realized I'm not very disciplined when I don't have to be and I procrastinate on a lot of things. I've decided, for real this time, that this is something I'm going to work on.

Discipline will be my ongoing challenge. I want to be great, I need to start acting like it. Slowly but surely I will improve my habits and become a better me. Hopefully, becoming more disciplined will help me with this lack of motivation that I've been feeling lately.

Just a quick thought as I sit in Starbucks...

My math was off divided just leaves us both a apart
I guess it ends before it got the chance to start

Don't Call It A Comeback

First off I would like to apologize for the long hiatus. But I am back and will be posting as often as possible. In a weird way it seems like blogging brings order to my life because it forces me to be on some type of time schedule.

Lately I have been searching for motivation. I realized that the people you surround yourself with really do play a huge role in your success. This post is just to get me back in the flow of things. Look for more detailed posts. Until then, enjoy this video.

So I got a new idea for my blog to make it really stand out. I want to do interviews with people who are up and coming or excelling at something, or just someone who is looking to get themselves out there. 2010 Wrap Up/ 2011 Prelude

2010 was a year in which I learned a lot. I can honestly say that I grew this past year. I built some relationships and also had to let some go. Mentally, i went through a lot. From super highs to super lows. Creatively i was able to advance and put in motion some projects that had been dwelling for a while. I fell in love with short comings and learned not to feel bad for what i cannot control. "Everything I'm not, made me everything I am". Overall 2010 was a good year

2011 should be a year of excitement. I got a lot of things lined up and a couple treats for the people. Be on the look out for more things from Liberal Society, we have some big things planned. Just be on the look out for me!

Finals

This week is finals week. I have four finals and one 10 page paper due this week. Ahh the life of a college student. It should not be too bad for me though. I am trying to get all the studying in, so there won't be too much cramming. Expect a blogs to be posted during awkward moments of the night or day. I have a feeling that my sleeping patterns will be off. 

I'm also thinking about a list of things that I want to do over this six week break I have as well. Any suggestions?

This week's topic was to write about a daydream.

Day Dream

Its funny how I picked the topic

Don’t know what I was thinking, it was bad logic

Most of daydreams is just drifting

Thinking about my future has my mind shifting

Trying to see what steps I should take to better my future

While im remembering my past trying not to make the mistakes I used to

Sitting in class, front row not paying attention

Daydreaming wondering if the teacher knows im not listening

I hear the money calling and I start itching

Sorry for the simple flow, a little substance missing

Now back to the topic at hand, daydreaming

Staring off into space, while my minds streaming

Thinking about the way my people treated and its not even

Only thing in my vision is to get even

A different way

Make moves in a different lane

I was taught the water can put out the fire

So ill splash their flames and take my education higher

Success is the main course im working on the appetizer

Which is this daydream I guess dessert is to get wiser

Everybody got high hopes for me
